I had the honor of being able to view an exhibit of art quilts by African American women in Sacramento, CA earlier this year and loved them all. The artists were from all over California. There were also some Gees Bend quilts as well on view. And a wonderful video of two elderly women talking about their quilt making from old clothing starting some sixty years ago. What history, what pride.
Thanks for all the information you share with us in blogging land. I like the techniques you use.
Lovin' this book. I sure hope 1.6 Million quilters support our Sister Kyra by purchasing this book.
I just ran across this today, I'm going to post it on the African American Quilters Network Facebook page.
