the first picture is from one of the student in the class, the next picture is from the instructor, the third picture is my piece unfinished and the others are some of the other students in the class. it was a nice workshop. am going to start collecting dirt now. the dirt has sit in the water for a year for the best result for color, but can be used earlier.

Yetunde, this sounds very "go green" and using our earth resources instead of synthetic paints. Sounds like a new and fun project!! Laurie Ceesay
it is all natural. she uses rain water and all natural teas and berries to dye the fabric. it was very interesting.
Yetunde, that's very interesting, I didn't know the mud had to "age" before you use it. I can't wait to see your finished piece, I know it will be beautiful - as all your work is!

i am looking at dirt a whole different way now.
I love mud cloth! and how simply awesome is this workshop!!! has to be fun to see what dirt comes from where and the different versions of mud-colour they make!!!!
